Alcohol Tobacco vs. Illegal Drugs - 765 Words

In the article â€Å"Alcohol, Tobacco Worse Than Illegal Drugs† a new British study found that alcohol and tobacco are more dangerous than some illegal narcotics such as marijuana or Ecstasy. Professor David Nutt of Britain’s Bristol University and some colleagues proposed the study and found a new structure for the â€Å"classification of harmful substances based on the actual risk posed to society† (Conroy, 2007). The researchers used three factors to determine how harmful any drug is : â€Å"the physical harm to the user, the drug’s potential for addiction, and the impact on society of drug use† (Conroy, 2007). Then two groups of experts (psychiatrists or medical expertise) were asked to select scores of twenty different drugs. Are parents abusing the power they have over their children? There are parents who involve themselves in their child’s life so much the child has no say in anything. Being limited or neglected from pursuing one’s goal can lead to depression. Something similar to this takes place in the film Dead Poets Society. In this film a character named Neil is prohibited from pursuing his goals of becoming an actor by his father. This results in at least one argument found in the film. In fact, three arguments can be identified in Dead Poets Society. One argument found in Dead Poets Society is that Mr. Keating should not have told the boys about the Dead Poets Society. Jesus is god, he represents holy,loyalty, faith, trust, but he was put on a cross, he was suffering, but it was because of the people who has a big power which made him been put on a cross because he said things that some people disagrees, and in these days, people who has power are the ones who controls us. In this picture, the power people represents the Governments, politicians, Bosses, etc, all the people who controls us. They are the ones who made all the rules and makes us do what they wanted us to do, we are not allowed to say alot of things, we have to obey them. Urine represents disgust, look down, lower class, ignorance, dirty, waste. The artist put urine on it is because he want to tell those people with power to piss off we want to have what we want, we want to be free.
